Hi my name is Lovett! I am a very pretty 6 year old German Shepherd. I have been told that I am a little short for my breed, but I weigh over 80lbs. I LOVE to eat! My favorite snacks are chicken, peanut butter and popcorn... when I find it on the floor. Most of the time I am very chill. I like to take naps, especially on the couch. I have learned not to get on the couch unless I am invited...and, well unless my parents aren’t around. I just can’t help it, because it’s sooo comfy. I get really excited when I get to eat. I know to sit and wait until I am told to eat, but sometimes I get so excited that I forget. I am not food aggressive, and I don’t mind a back rub while I eat my dinner.

Sometimes I get so excited to go for a walk that my foster mom and dad have trouble getting my leash on me. I will sit and wait for you to put my leash on, but I like to try to give you high fives while you put it on. I pull a little at the beginning of my walk, but then I remember that I am supposed to heel. I try to lead on my walks, but I heel again when you remind me. I love car rides! I will jump immediately into the car if the door is open. I easily go in my crate, but occasionally you may need to bribe me with a treat. I do well when I am left out at home alone. I am not destructive, but I start to think I am Queen of the house...and nestle in on the couch for a nap. I need someone who understands that a GSD wants and needs rules and boundaries. My foster parents think that I am wonderful and they tell me so all the time.

I don’t like thunderstorms and I’m terrified of the vacuum. When I get scared, I try to hide behind my current Alpha human or anywhere away from the vacuum. I have been through OLK9 Beginner Training and I hope that my new parents can keep up with my training and practice with me, so I can be the best girl possible! Once I acknowledge you as my Alpha human I will try to stick close by your side, but sometimes I do become curious and wander off. I would suggest a leash or fenced in yard to keep me safe. I get along well with other dogs of all sizes, as long as they are nice to me. I have met some cats, and I ignored them until they hissed at me. Then, I barked at them...so no cats for me please. They are weird hairy creatures...and they smell funny. I don’t bark much, but I do like to let my parents know when someone is at the door, or in the driveway. I like people and I'm very sweet, but I want to be introduced properly to new people coming into the house. I would probably do best in a home with older children, since I tend to knock small children down when I become excited.

I am being fostered in Jonesborough, TN. If you think I would be the perfect fit for you, please contact your adoption coordinator or fill out an application to potentially adopt me
